Declaration of the World Peasant-farmers Gathering in Yaounde (May 2002) signed by 49 peasant-farmers and fishworkers organisations from Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America, West and Central Europe.It emphasises the effects of economic globalisation and trade liberalisation on the destruction of peasant agricultures and on populations’ feeding. Proposals were made concerning food sovereignty and security in relation with market regulation, GMOs, land issues, bio-diversity, management of halieutic resources.
